Charlie Smirl

Admitted as a lawyer since 2002, Charlie is Business Director & Corporate Counsel at Dovetail Legal Solutions, the leading provider of in-house lawyers to corporate clients across Australia.

In his role at Dovetail, Charlie connects corporate clients directly with lawyers across a wide range of engagements – ranging from ad-hoc work, secondments, fixed-term recruitment and permanent employment.

Prior to Dovetail, Charlie worked in-house with global explosives and mining services companies, Orica and Dyno Nobel, with responsibilities across the APAC region.

Before moving in-house, Charlie worked in private practice as a solicitor within the Corporate and Commercial team at a national law firm.

Charlie is a morning person and you’ll often see him walking his dog down by the beach before work. He also has a healthy addiction to chilli – it’s his coffee – and his two daughters will happily call him out on it…
